has sprung, or so it would seem =] Upon arriving at the local bakery, I noticed these beautiful berries all bunched together. Not because of their incredible vibrant hue, as one might think ( I mean, they are pretty BAM!) But no, it was their scent. I smelt something sweet along the busy road. I followed my nose to these little beauties, paused, noticed the clouds were retreating, felt the cool air…then got super excited and started digging in my bag for my cam ;]
Since I saw these this morning, I took extra note to my surroundings for the rest of the day. Vines and ivy are beginning to resume their twisted growth upon the towering trees at Takena Landing. I noticed shops and homes are planting these gorgeous lime green and purple leafy bushes in their yards. And even in my own backyard, I spotted several the tulips beginning to sprout. It’s only a matter of time!

SO this passed Friday, my friend and I were lucky enough to be able to photograph this awesome event for our zine Midnight Muse. Being my first time photographing a runway show, I was pretty nervous!! But determined to get some amazing pictures.
1) The atmosphere was super chill and completely erased all my tension as soon as I walked into the door. The vibe was electric! 2) I got to mingle with some amazing artists, designers, and new models (which as you all know, I am ALWAYS up for meeting new models for my random on whim casting calls ;] ) 3) the colors! The lighting was perfect. I had brought my flash but honestly, I didn’t even pull it out for the runway…I really wanted to preserve the intensity of the lights! I think the outcome was amazing. 4) I couldn’t be happier with how the turned out 5) Thank you Timmery for putting on such an awesome show, and letting us be a part of it!
The show also partnered with an amazing organization called the Nakate Project. You should definitely CHECK THEM OUT and support their awesome cause =]
So without further ado, here are all the images I captured from the night. If you would like to grab any of the images, you can grab them from here. If you were involved in the show, you have the option of purchasing hi resolution, logo free CDs of the entire show for $20. Just send me an email and I’ll send it your way!

Soooo I found out about a week ago that some of my work will be in an upcoming show at a gallery in Portland, and I wanted to share those pieces with you! Chances are, if you’ve been following me around, you’ve probably seen them.

The first two are from my body painting and will be huge, 20×30″ each. The following 4 are from my river series and will be 10×15″ each.
Anyone is welcome to come to the reception and see these pieces and more *hint* The reception is Friday January 6th, 7–9PM and will be on display through the end of the month. The gallery is called the Splendorporium, part of the NPO Art4Life Children’s Gallery. One reason I love them so much.
Anyway, you can check out their website for more info or just ask me ;] Holla!
Fall is my favorite season here in Oregon. I think I’m still getting used to the leaves and all the colors I see every day just driving around town. In Texas, there is no autumn. It’s still summer over there now and when winter comes around, the leaves just die and fall off their trees!
I am in love with Oregon.
And even though I know the rainy season approaches, just the few weeks from October-November make it all worth it to me. It had been raining and freezing all week but today was just one of those days you just want to grab a jacket and lay in the grass. The sun hung low in the early afternoon creating this beautiful orange glow, which hit the last of the same colored leaves and just radiated. The air was so fresh and crisp…cold enough to make you want to wrap yourself in something warm and fuzzy but not too much that you couldn’t feel the tip of your nose =] A day to treat yourself to a Pumpkin Latte from Dutch Bros and go for a walk just because.
A good day. A beautiful fall day. And for that, and all of you, I am very thankful.
I had wanted to go to the beach the night before and practice my first attempt at photographing the milky way…however, the skies were too cloudy. I moped around a bit because I’m so impatient and had really been looking forward to a night at the beach. Around 3AM I had an amazing idea…those clouds obstructing my stellar view would look beautiful at sunrise! On impulse, I woke my poor husband up, we hastily packed our gear and were out the door by 3:30! Have I ever mentioned how amazingly supportive he is? =]
We arrived at Nye Beach just before 5AM, which was perfect! Because the coast faces westward, the sun rises behind us and illuminates the clouds over the Pacific slowly and doesn’t wash out all the color. Another great thing…we were lucky enough to get the fog rolling in. Really gorgeous effect. It was hard for me to only pick a few…I came home with over 300 shots. Below are only 40 or so of our favorites, they’re not in any particular order. The only editing was some slight level balancing…those colors are the real thing!
[Gallery not found]As you can see, our dog LOVES the beach. And WE loved that we were the only ones on the beach for hours. One of the most relaxing days in my entire life. What a morning =] I hope you enjoyed.
I’m considering making prints available depending on how well received they are…if you had to pick 1 image, what do you think would be the best print with the most WOW factor?
